Learner’s Permit Restrictions
With a learner’s permit:
- You may only drive with a licensed driver aged 21 or older seated in the front passenger seat.
- Use of handheld devices while driving is prohibited.
- You must hold the permit for at least six months without any serious traffic violations before advancing to the next licensing stage.
Advancing to an Intermediate License
After holding a learner’s permit for six months and reaching the age of 16, you may apply for an intermediate license. Requirements include:
- No serious traffic violations during the six-month permit period.
- Passing a driving skills test.
- Compliance with intermediate license restrictions, such as limited nighttime driving and passenger limitations.
