General Requirements
- Pass vision test
- Pass written knowledge test
- Pass road skills test
- Residency: Must be a Nevada resident and provide a Nevada street address. Must surrender any existing U.S.-issued license or ID card.
- Parental consent: Required for applicants under 18. Parent/guardian must sign the financial responsibility section on the application.
- Other: For applicants under 18: Must complete driver education (30 hours), hold learner's permit for at least 6 months, complete 50 hours of supervised driving (including 10 hours at night) or 100 hours if driver education is not available within 30 miles. For applicants 18 and older: No driver education or minimum practice hours required. Vision standard is 20/40 in one eye. Knowledge test consists of 25 questions with 80% passing score.
