General Requirements
- Pass vision test
- Pass written knowledge test
- Pass road skills test
- Residency: Must provide two documents showing Utah residence address
- Parental consent: Required for applicants under 18 years of age
- Other: Learner permit must be held for 6 months before applying for provisional license if under 18; must complete driver education course if under 19; must complete 40 hours of supervised driving (10 hours at night); must pass the online Traffic Safety and Trends Exam with 100%; no driving between midnight and 5 AM for drivers under 17; for first 6 months after obtaining provisional license, no passengers under 21 allowed except immediate family members
