General Requirements
- Pass vision test
- Pass written knowledge test
- Pass road skills test
- Residency: Must provide two proofs of Mississippi residency with applicant's name and physical address. Applicants under 21 may use parents' or guardians' documents.
- Parental consent: Applicants under 17 must have application signed and notarized by parent(s) or legal guardian
- Other: Learner's permit must be held for at least 1 year before applying for intermediate license. Intermediate license must be held for 6 months before applying for full license. Driver education is recommended but not currently mandatory (though legislation is pending for 2025). Supervised driving required with learner's permit by licensed driver at least 21 years old.
