General Requirements
- Pass vision test
- Pass written knowledge test
- Pass road skills test
- Residency: Must be an Illinois resident for at least 90 days
- Parental consent: Required for applicants under 18
- Other: Learner permit must be held for minimum 9 months for teens; 50 hours of supervised driving including 10 hours at night required for teens; driver education course required for applicants under 18; applicants 18-20 without previous license must complete 6-hour adult driver education course
